The car comes with two keys. The keys fit all locks. It is recommended to keep one of them in a safe place as a spare.
Note: The key number is stamped on the number plate as shown in the illustration. Write down the key number and keep the number plate separately from the key so that in case of loss you can order a replacement key from an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
The vehicle's engine is designed in such a way that it will not start if the identification code registered in the immobilizer's electronic control unit does not match the identification code of the key. More detailed information on the operation of the anti-theft system and the use of keys is provided further in the section "Electronic immobilizer".
Never place keys near magnetic or metal objects, as this may adversely affect the operation of the transponder.
