The key contains an electronic microchip that works as part of the immobilizer system.
Keys can be of two types: with and without remote control.
Note: The key number is stamped on the tag (see picture). Write down the key number, then detach the tag from the key and store it separately so that if the original key is lost, you can order a duplicate.

Keep one of the keys in a safe place as a spare.
If you lose one of the keys, order a new one as soon as possible. To do this, bring the car and any of the remaining keys to an authorized MITSUBISHI MOTORS service center.
If you need an additional key, please contact an authorized MITSUBISHI MOTORS service center, taking ALL your keys with you. All keys must be re-registered in the immobilizer electronic unit. Up to 8 different key identification codes can be registered in the immobilizer, i.e. no more than 8 keys can be in use.
