The engine will not start if the identification code registered in the immobilizer does not match the key code.
Note. In the following cases, the system may not read the code from the registered key. This means that the engine will not start even though the registered key is turned to the START position.
- The key touches a ring or other metal or magnetic object (drawing A).
- The key touches the metal part of another key (figure B).
- If the key touches or is in close proximity to another immobilizer key (including from the key of another car) (figure C).
In this case, remove the metal object or remove another key from the ring (keychain) and turn the key to the ACC or LOCK position. Then try to start the engine again. If the engine does not start, it is recommended to contact an authorized MITSUBISHI MOTORS service center.
Attention. Do not store keys near magnetic or metal objects, as this may interfere with the operation of the transponder.
It is forbidden to make any changes and improvements to the immobilizer system, as a result of which the system may fail.
