The system consists of a small-sized transceiver built into the ignition key, an antenna coil in the ignition switch, and an immobilizer unit installed in the instrument panel.
The immobilizer unit checks the correctness of the code signal transmitted by the transceiver. If the code signal is determined to be correct, the engine may be started.
If the code signal is incorrect, the engine will not start.
Warnings
- (1) When the key is in the ignition switch, other electronic keys, as well as metal objects or devices that emit electromagnetic waves, should not be near it.
- (2) Avoid exposing the key to sharp or piercing objects, as there is an electronic unit in the key head that can be damaged.
- (3) Do not modify or modify the immobilizer system, as this may cause it to malfunction.
- (4) The car comes with two keys. If one of them is lost, you can order an additional key from your Mitsubishi dealer. If you need to have an additional spare key, you must provide the dealer with all the keys and the vehicle for re-registration of all keys in the immobilizer control unit.
Note: The immobilizer can register up to 8 different codes. You can have up to 8 registered keys.
