Headlights
The headlights are turned on by turning the switch handle.
Note:
- Do not leave dipped headlights and other lights on for a long time with the engine off. This may lead to battery discharge.
- When it rains or after washing the car, the headlight lenses may fog up. This phenomenon has the same causes as fogging of window panes in wet weather and is not a sign of malfunction. When you turn on the headlights, the moisture will evaporate from the heat. However, if water accumulates inside the headlights, it is recommended that they be checked.
Vehicles equipped with daytime running lights)
When the ignition key is turned to the ON position, the dipped beam headlights, position tail lights, etc. light up even if the light switch is in the OFF position (turned off).
Auto light off function (headlights, fog lights, etc.):
- If the ignition key is turned to the LOCK or ACC position, or removed from the ignition switch, all lights will remain on for another 3 minutes if the light switch is in position and the driver's door is not opened. The lights will then turn off automatically.
- If within 3 minutes after turning the ignition key to the LOCK or ACC position or removing it from the lock, the driver's door is opened while the light switch is in position, a buzzer will sound to warn the driver that the lights are on, and the lights themselves will automatically turn off.
Note:
- The auto light off function does not work when the light switch is in the
- If you turn the ignition key to the LOCK or ACC position, or remove it from the lock while the light switch is in the position, and then return the light switch to the OFF position within 3 minutes, the automatic light switch-off function will not work.
If necessary, leave the light on:
- Turn the ignition key to the LOCK or ACC position, or remove it from the ignition switch, and then turn the light switch to the OFF position.
- Switch on the lights by turning the light switch back to the position or after that the lights will remain on.
Note:
- You can change the mode of operation of the automatic lights off function.
- The auto light off function is disabled. For more information, contact an authorized MITSUBISHI MOTORS service center.
Light warning buzzer
If the driver's door is opened while the lights are on and the ignition key is in the LOCK or ACC position or removed from the ignition, a buzzer will sound to alert the driver that the lights are on. When the auto headlight off function is triggered, the buzzer will automatically turn off. If this function is not enabled, the lights must be turned off to silence the buzzer.
High and low beam switch
If the light switch is in the high beam to low beam position (and vice versa) carried out by moving the lever to the position (1). When the high beam headlights are switched on, the corresponding indicator light in the instrument cluster lights up.
Flashing headlights
High beam headlights turn on when the lever is moved to the position (2) and turns off when the lever is released.
When the high beam is switched on, the high beam indicator light in the instrument cluster also comes on.
Note:
- High beam flashing is also possible when the light switch is in the OFF position.
- If you turn off the lights while the high beam is on, the next time you return the light switch to the headlight position, the headlights will automatically switch to low beam.
