The master cylinder does not have a check valve, therefore (in the case when there is no brake fluid in the master cylinder) air should be released in the following sequence.

1. Fill the brake fluid reservoir.

2. Press and hold the brake pedal.

3. The second mechanic should cover the outlet hole of the master cylinder with his finger.



4. With the exhaust port closed, release the brake pedal.

5. Repeat steps 2-4 three or four times until the master cylinder is filled with brake fluid.
