When working with electrical equipment in the engine compartment, be sure to disconnect the battery ground.

Caution: When the battery is disconnected, the data from the radio receiver memory and electronic control units is erased. If the radio receiver is coded, you should; know the code before removing the cables from the battery. Without entering the code, the receiver cannot be put into operation. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in the section "Removing and installing the battery".


Do not mix up the wires on the generator and on the voltage regulator. Before disconnecting the wires, mark them with adhesive tape.

Do not disconnect the battery or voltage regulator while the engine is running.

Do not remove the generator while the battery is connected.

Be sure to disconnect the battery when performing welding work.
