Removing
Disconnect the earth cable from the battery.
Attention: This erases data in the electronic memory, such as the engine fault memory or the radio code. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is off, otherwise the control unit of the fuel injection device may fail. Before disconnecting the battery, read the instructions in sections "Radio" And "Removing and installing the battery".
Loosen the bolts of the pulleys -4- and -5- of the water pump without removing them. When loosening the bolts, keep the pulleys from turning.
Loosen and remove air conditioning V-belt (if installed), power steering -2- and alternator V-belt -3-, see paragraph 1.21.
Loosen screws and remove pulleys.
Remove the protective cap, fastening the large wire (B+), and disconnect the cable connector.
Remove bolts on alternator support and clamping bracket -6- and remove alternator.
Installation
Place the generator and fix it on the support without tightening the bolts.
Insert pinch bolt.
Check the wear of the V-belt, if worn, replace the belt.
Apply and tighten the V-belt, see paragraph 1.21.
Connect the electrical wiring to the generator.
Connect ground cable to battery.
If available, set the time on the clock and enter the security code into the radio.
