Removal
If present, remove the V-belts of the servo pump and air conditioning compressor.
Check the condition of the V-belt, see the "Maintenance" section.
Loosen the generator retaining bolt nut.
Loosen the locking bolt on the belt tensioner.
Loosen the belt tension by turning the adjusting bolt.
Remove the V-belt from the pulley.
Installation
Place the V-belt on the pulley, ensuring that the belt is correctly positioned, see figure.
Tighten the belt by turning the adjusting bolt.
Check the tension of the V-belt.
If necessary, adjust the tension to the following specified values. Consider the different requirements for new and used V-belts.
Tighten the lock bolt and retaining bolt nut.
Make a test drive and repeat the V-belt tension check.
Caution: Overtightening the belt can cause damage to the alternator and water pump bearings.
If removed, install the V-belts of the servo pump and air conditioning compressor.
