V-belt alternator — diesel engine (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

Removal

If present, remove the V-belts of the servo pump and air conditioning compressor.

Check the condition of the V-belt, see the "Maintenance" section.



Loosen the generator axle nut.

Loosen the tensioner arm clamp bolt. Tilt the generator toward the engine, thereby loosening the V-belt tension.

Remove the V-belt from the pulley.

Installation

Place the V-belt on the pulley.



Tilt the generator away from the engine using a crowbar and thereby tighten the V-belt.

Tighten the clamp bolt and check the V-belt tension. The required value is 7.0-10.0 mm.

Caution: Overtightening the belt can cause damage to the alternator and water pump bearings.

If removed, install the V-belts of the servo pump and air conditioning compressor.
