Technical operations on the car — checking the tension of the alternator drive belt (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

1. Use a special tool to check the belt tension in the middle between the two pulleys as shown in the figure.

2. Press the belt at this point with a force of 98 N, measure the belt deflection and compare it with the nominal value.

Nominal value:

Tension, N	197-371
Sag (reference value), mm	7,7-12,3

4. Tighten the generator pivot nut to 44 Nm.

5. Tighten the lock bolt to 22Nm.

6. Tighten the adjusting bolt to 10 Nm.
