Checking belt tension using a strain gauge attachment

Standard belt tension values

Measured and controlled parameterWhen checking and adjusting the beltWhen installing a new belt
Natural frequency of belt vibrations222.5-251.0 Hz259.8-300.0 Hz
Tension force363-462 H495-660 N
Deflection when pressed with a force of 100 N6.8-8.0 mm5.1-6.4 mm

Checking belt tension by deflection

If the belt tension does not correspond to the specified values, tighten it by turning the adjusting screw, after loosening the tensioner pulley nut.

After adjustment, tighten the nut and, after turning the crankshaft clockwise 1 or 2 times, check again and, if necessary, adjust the tension.
