1. Using a special tool, check the belt tension at the point midway between the crankshaft pulley and the power steering pump pulley (Fig. 3.3).

2. Then press the belt at this point with a force of 98 N, measure the belt deflection and compare it with the nominal value.

3. If the measured belt tension and deflection values differ from the nominal values, adjust as follows:
  • loosen the tensioner pulley mounting bolt 6;
  • adjust the belt tension (deflection) with adjusting bolt 4;
  • tighten bolt 6;
  • check the belt tension and deflection and readjust if necessary.

Attention! The check is carried out after turning the crankshaft clockwise (rotation to the right) by one or more revolutions.
