Disconnect the discharge hose from the hydraulic pump and connect the following special tool to the gap.
- MB990662: pressure gauge for working fluid in the system.
- MB991548: adapter for measuring the pressure of the working fluid in the system (from the hydraulic pump side).
- MB991549: adapter for measuring the pressure of the working fluid in the system (from the hose side).
Remove air from the system, turn the steering wheel several times with the car stationary to raise the temperature of the working fluid in the system to 50–60°C.
The engine should be idling.
Disconnect the pressure sensor-switch connector, connect an ohmmeter to the sensor-switch connector.
By gradually closing the shut-off valve of the pressure gauge, increase the pressure in the system, then check whether the pressure in the system activates the sensor-switch at the nominal value of its operation.
Nominal value: 1.5–2.0 MPa.
Gradually open the shut-off valve of the pressure gauge and reduce the pressure in the system, then check whether the pressure in the system activates the sensor-switch at the nominal value of its operation.
Nominal value: 0.7–2.0 MPa
Disconnect the special tool (for measuring pressure) and tighten the discharge hose to the rated torque.
Nominal tightening torque: 57 + 7 Nm
Remove air from the system.
