Disconnect the discharge hose from the hydraulic pump and connect the following special tool to the gap.
  • MB990662: pressure gauge for working fluid in the system.
  • MB991548: adapter for measuring the pressure of the working fluid in the system (from the hydraulic pump side).
  • MB991549: adapter for measuring the pressure of the working fluid in the system (from the hose side).

Start the engine, turn the steering wheel several times to raise the temperature of the working fluid in the system to 50–60°C.

Start the engine and let it idle at 750 +100 min⁻¹.

Caution! The pressure gauge shut-off valve must not remain closed for more than 10 s.

Close the shut-off valve of the pressure gauge completely and measure the maximum pressure developed by the hydraulic pump and compare it with the nominal value range. Open the shut-off valve immediately after completing the pressure test.

Nominal value: 8.8–9.5 MPa.

If the measured pressure value does not correspond to the nominal value, replace the hydraulic pump.

Check whether the developed pressure corresponds to the nominal value in the absence of load with the shut-off valve of the pressure gauge fully open.

Nominal value: 0.8–1.0 MPa.

If the measured pressure does not correspond to the nominal value, the reason for this is a malfunction of the connecting pipes or steering gear, so they must be checked and, if necessary, repaired.

Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left; check whether the pressure in the line corresponds to the nominal value.

Nominal value: 8.8–9.5 MPa.

If the measured pressure value does not correspond to the nominal value, repair the steering gear. Repeat the pressure measurement.

Disconnect the special tool (for measuring pressure) and tighten the discharge hose to the rated torque.

Nominal tightening torque: 57 + 7 Nm.

Remove air from the system.
