Checking the idle speed (Mitsubishi Pajero 4)

1. Prepare the vehicle for inspection (warm up the engine to normal coolant temperature).

2. Turn off the ignition and connect the MUT-III device to the diagnostic connector.

3. Check the basic ignition timing angle.

Nominal value: approximately 10° BTDC

4. Start the engine and let it idle for 2 minutes.

5. Check the idle speed. Select item No. 22 and read the idle speed value.

Nominal value:

• Model with 6G7 engine: 700±100 min⁻¹
• Model with 4M4 engine: 700±30 min⁻¹

Note: Idle speed is controlled automatically by the Idle Speed Control (ISC) system.

6. If the idle speed does not correspond to the nominal value, check the injection system components (MPI).
