2. Apply the parking brake and block the wheels with chocks to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Shift the transmission into neutral.
3. Connect the hand tachometer.
4. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
5. Check and, if necessary, adjust the ignition timing (section 37).
6. Run the engine at 2000-3000 rpm for more than 5 seconds, then let it idle for two minutes.
7. Check the idle speed on the tachometer and compare it with the value indicated on the emission control system information plate located in the engine compartment.
8. If the idle speed is too low or too high, adjust it with the adjusting screw (SAS 1) to the value specified in the specification. Turn only the speed adjusting screw (SAS 1) as the other adjusting screws are adjusted at the factory and require special equipment for proper adjustment.
20.8. When adjusting the idle speed, only turn the SAS1 screw - the other screws are adjusted at the factory and special equipment is required to adjust them correctly
