Checking the alternator drive belt tension (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Check the tension by pressing the belt and adjust it to the required value. Turn the adjusting bolt clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the timing belt tension (Figure 2.11a, b). Normal value: new belt: 5.5-7.0 mm, old belt: 8.0 mm.

2. When using, adjust the tension by rotating the adjusting bolt (Figure 2.12). Normal value: new belt: 500-700N, old belt: 400N.
