Installing the front crankshaft oil seal
Place the guide (pilot sleeve) (3) on the shaft and lubricate it with a thin layer of engine oil. Using the mandrel (4), press in the new oil seal. After pressing in the oil seal, carefully remove the guide (3).
Installing the rear crankshaft oil seal
Using the mandrel (3), press the new seal into the cover as shown in the figure.
Installing the crankshaft rear oil seal housing
Apply MITSUBISHI MD970389 sealant or similar to the cleaned and degreased surface of the cover, install it in place and tighten the mounting screws.

Note: The lid must be installed within a maximum of 15 minutes after applying the sealant.
Note: Before installation, lubricate the inner lip of the oil seal with a thin layer of engine oil.
Tighten the cover mounting screws to a torque of 11±1 Nm.
Note: After installing the cover, do not allow oil to come into contact with the sealed joint for 1 hour.
