This sensor measures the angle of rotation of the crankshaft. At the same time, by correlating the angle of rotation with time, the crankshaft speed is obtained. This data is used to synchronize the entire fuel injection process and determine the injection timing as a function of engine speed (the higher the speed, the greater the angular gap between the start of injection and TDC).
The sensor is installed on the coolant pump housing (see fig. M2 3.018).
