Unlike the system described in the previous section, the Super select system is supplemented by an interaxle differential and a viscous coupling installed in the transfer case housing.
In this way, the following four operating modes of the Super select all-wheel drive transmission are implemented:
- 2WD mode;
- 4WD mode always on;
- direct engagement of high gear 4WD;
- direct engagement of low gear 4WD.
