The designation consists of two letters. The first letter characterizes the range of application S = Service, intended for gasoline engines, C = Commercial, intended for diesel engines. The second letter indicates the grade in alphabetical order.
API premium oils are SG for gasoline engines and CE for diesel engines.
Attention: Engine oils that have a clear manufacturer's indication of use in diesel engines must not be used in gasoline engines. There are oils that can be used in both gasoline and diesel engines. In this case, the double designation is indicated on the packaging (e.g. SF/CD).
For MITSUBISHI COLT/LANCER with a gasoline engine, the following API specification oils SE, SF and SG are suitable, and for diesel engines - CC, CD and CE.
