Disconnecting the Lower Arm Assembly and Trailing Arm Assembly
When removing the trailing arm, move it slightly forward (to the front of the car) paw of the lift so that it does not interfere with the removal of the lever.
Jacking up the lower control arm, disconnect the lower control arm assembly from the trailing arm.
Installing the stabilizer bar
Tighten the self-locking nut so that the length of the protruding threaded part of the anti-roll bar comes out to the nominal value.
Rated value (A): 6–8 mm.
Examination
Check the condition of the bushings for wear or damage.
Check the condition of the trailing arm for bent or damage.
Replacing the trailing arm bushing
Select the bushing installation directions and its position when pressing into the trailing arm.
Install the inner tube of the long end of the bushing to the inside of the car.
Make sure the trailing arm bushing is positioned as shown in the illustration.
Using the special tool, press in the trailing arm bushing as shown in the illustration.
Use the following special tool to press out the trailing arm bushing.
- MB990890: rear suspension hub base.
- MB990947: mandrel for lower control arm bushing.
- MB991816: base for removal / installation of bushings.
