Removal
- (2WD models) Before removing parts, remove the rear wheel hub assembly.
− Removal is carried out in the order of numbers indicated in the figure "Removing the longitudinal arm assembly".
Removal the Trailing Arm Assembly (2WD Models). 1 - wheel speed sensor wire (models with ABS), 2 - parking brake drive cable, 3 - brake pipe, 4 - rear brake / parking brake, 5 - lower arm, 6 - upper arm, 7 - toe adjustment lever, 8 - trailing arm bolt, 9 - trailing arm.
Note: It is only necessary to pre-tighten the nuts and bolts marked with the sign, and to perform the final tightening on an unloaded vehicle after lowering it onto its wheels.
Removal the trailing arm assembly (4WD models). 1 - Wheel speed sensor (models with ABS), 2 - Parking brake cable, 3 - Brake pipe, 4 - Lower arm, 5 - Upper arm, 6 - Toe adjustment arm, 7 - Trailing arm bolt, 8 - Rear wheel hub assembly, 9 - Rear brake / parking brake, 10 - Snap ring, 11 - Rear wheel hub bearing, 12 - Trailing arm.
Note: It is only necessary to pre-tighten the parts marked with the symbol, and to perform the final tightening on an unloaded vehicle after lowering it onto its wheels.
- When removing parts, pay attention to the following operations.
1. (4WD models with disc brakes) Removing the rear brake assembly.
Remove the brake caliper assembly and support it with wire.
Caution: Do not hang the brake caliper by the brake hose.
2. Removing the lower arm mounting bolt.
Jack up the front of the trailing arm and remove the nut.

3. Disconnecting the lower arm from the rear wheel knuckle:
a) Place a wooden block under the lower arm as shown in the figure. Using a jack, compress the rear suspension spring and remove the lower arm-to-rear wheel knuckle bolt.

b) Slowly lower the jack and remove the spring.
4. (4WD models) Removing the wheel hub bearing.
a) Using a special bearing puller, press out the outer part of the inner bearing race from the wheel hub.

b) Using special tools, remove the wheel hub bearing from the trailing arm.

Examination
1. Check the bushings for wear, damage or deterioration.
2. Check the trailing arm for bending or damage.
Installation
− Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When installing parts, pay attention to the following operations.
1. (4WD models) Installing the wheel hub bearing.
Using special tools, press the wheel hub bearing into the trailing arm housing.

2. (4WD models) Installing the rear wheel hub assembly.
Using special tools, press the rear wheel hub.
Note: If the fit of the inner bearing race is incorrect (the race protrudes), then press the bearing into the trailing arm before installing the wheel hub.

− After completing the installation of the parts, perform the following operations.
a) (2WD models) Install the rear wheel hub.

6) Fill the brake fluid and bleed the brake system (see chapter "Brake system"),
c) Checking and adjusting the rear wheel alignment angles.
d) Checking the travel of the parking brake lever (see chapter "Brake system").
Replacing the trailing arm bushing
1. Using special tools, press the bushing out of the trailing arm.

2. Correctly orient and position the trailing arm bushing during installation.
a) Position the trailing arm bushing so that its side with the larger protruding part of the inner tube faces the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.

b) Make sure that the concave parts of the trailing arm bushing are positioned as shown in the figure.

3. Using special tools, press the bushing into the trailing arm.
