Instrument panel indicators (Mitsubishi Outlander 1)

The odometer shows the total distance traveled by the vehicle. The odometer shows the distance when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position.

Daily mileage counter

This counter shows the distance traveled by the car during a separate trip or during a certain period of time. The display of the daily mileage counter operates in two modes - A (TRIP A) and B (TRIP B).

Counter A (TRIP A) shows the distance traveled by the car since the beginning of the current trip. At the same time, counter B (TRIP B) can show the distance traveled by the car over a certain period of time (for example, after some intermediate point during the current trip).

Resetting (zeroing) the daily mileage counter.

To reset the counter, press the reset button and hold it down for more than 1 second.



You will hear a beep and the display will reset only to the counter whose readings were displayed at the moment you pressed the reset button.

For example, if the display showed the readings of counter A (TRIP A), then only they will be reset.

Note: The maximum distance that can be recorded by the trip meter in any of the modes A (TRIP A) or B (TRIP B) is 9999 km.

Note: If the battery is disconnected for an extended period of time, both tripmeters A and B will be reset.

Average fuel consumption

The display shows the average fuel consumption (liters/100 km) since the last reset. If you need to start the measurement again, reset the display and it will show the average fuel consumption since that moment.

Resetting (zeroing) the display readings

Press the reset button and hold it for more than 1 second.

You will hear a beep and the display will reset to zero only the reading that was displayed when you pressed the reset button.

Note: After turning the ignition key to the "ON" position, the display will show the average fuel consumption that was recorded on the display before the ignition key was last turned to the "OFF" position.

The average fuel consumption readings on the display may vary depending on the conditions in which the vehicle is driven (road conditions, driving style, etc.). Therefore, the display readings are used as approximate values and may differ from the actual average fuel consumption values.

Vehicle range

This indicator provides information about the distance that the car can travel on the fuel remaining in the tank.

Note. If the display shows the vehicle's range, when the range becomes less than 50 km, a warning sound will sound and the display will start flashing. In this case, refuel as soon as possible. Even if the display currently shows another indicator (not the range), when the range decreases to 50 km, then to 25 km, 10 km, a warning sound will sound and the range will be displayed for 5 seconds. Then the display will show the current indicator again.

After turning the ignition key to the "ON" position, the display will show the range value that was recorded on the display before the ignition key was last turned to the "OFF" position.

The display value of the range indication may change depending on the conditions in which the vehicle is driven (road conditions, driving style, etc.). Therefore, the display value is used as a guideline and may differ from the actual values, however, after the first warning signal appears, refuel the vehicle as soon as possible.

Air temperature outside the car

The A readings on the display provide information about the air temperature outside the vehicle.

Note: Temperature measurement range from –40°C to 50°C.

The outside air temperature reading may differ from its actual value due to reasons related to atmospheric conditions, surrounding conditions, driving conditions, etc.



If the outside temperature is below –40°C or above 50°C, an error message ("–") will appear on the display.

If the outside temperature drops below –3°C, a warning sound is heard and the temperature display A and the symbol B, warning of icy roads, start flashing on the display for 5 seconds.

Warning! Even if the warning symbol B does not flash, there is a risk of icy roads. Please be careful on the road.

Speedometer

The speedometer shows the vehicle's speed in kilometers per hour (km/h) and miles per hour (mp/h).

Tachometer

The tachometer shows the engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm). The tachometer can help you choose a more economical driving mode and also warns you when the engine speed exceeds the maximum permissible value.

Attention! While driving, watch the tachometer readings. Its needle, which shows the engine crankshaft speed, should not enter the red zone (the zone where the maximum permissible speed is exceeded).

Fuel level indicator

This gauge shows the fuel level in the fuel tank when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position.

Warning! Do not start driving if the fuel level in the tank is below the permissible level; if the fuel is completely used up, this may result in damage to the catalytic converter.

Note: The symbol marked with arrow A shows which side of the vehicle the fuel filler neck is on. With the symbol positioned as shown in the illustration, the filler neck is on the left side of the vehicle.

Fuel reserve indicator light (yellow)

This lamp comes on when the fuel level in the fuel tank reaches the minimum allowable reserve value.

If this lamp is on, you need to refuel the car.

Note: When driving on very rough roads, this indicator light may flash due to the fuel moving in the tank and an incorrect fuel level being detected.

Coolant temperature gauge

This gauge shows the temperature of the coolant in the engine cooling system when the ignition switch is in the "ON" position.

Warning! If the pointer of the indicator entered the red zone H of the scale while the engine was running, this may indicate that the engine is overheating. Immediately stop the car in a safe place and perform the necessary actions as described in the section "Engine overheating".

While driving, make sure that the coolant temperature remains within normal limits.
