Note: When removing the radiator cap, be careful not to get burned by hot coolant or steam. Wrap a towel around the radiator cap and turn it counterclockwise slightly to release pressure through the steam pipe. After releasing the pressure, remove the cap by slowly turning it counterclockwise.

After removing the radiator cap, unscrew the radiator drain plug and drain the coolant from the radiator, heater and engine.
Drain the fluid from the engine cooling jacket by unscrewing the drain plug of the cylinder block.
Remove the expansion tank and drain the coolant from it.
After draining all the coolant, flush the cooling system by directing a stream of water under pressure into the radiator filler pipe.

Apply sealant to the threaded portion of the cylinder block drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.
- Sealant Name: 3M Part Number 4171 for Threaded Connections or equivalent.
- Tightening torque: 44 + 5 Nm.
Tighten the radiator drain plug securely.
Install the expansion tank.
Warning! Do not use alcohol or methanol containing coolant, or their mixtures with any of the glycol coolants. Use of prohibited coolants may cause corrosion of aluminum alloy parts.

Select the concentration of the antifreeze solution depending on the ambient temperature. The concentration of the solution should be in the range of 30-60%. Use the pressure test kit (MB991871) to fill the coolant. Usually, a solution containing 50% water and 50% antifreeze concentrate (freezing point: -31°C) is prepared.
Recommended brand of antifreeze concentrate: DIAQUEEN SUPER LONG LIFE COOLANT or equivalent.
Quantity: 7.0 l.

Install the radiator cap.
Start the engine and warm it up to the temperature at which the thermostat valve opens.
Increase the engine speed several times to 3000 min⁻¹, then turn off the engine.
Let the engine cool down.
Remove the radiator cap and add coolant to the edge of the filler neck.
Install the radiator cap.
Caution! Do not allow the expansion tank to overfill.
If necessary, add coolant to the expansion tank so that the fluid level is between the "F" and "L" marks.
Determination of the concentration of a solution of low-freezing liquid
To determine the concentration of the coolant solution, its freezing point and density should be measured.
Nominal value: 30–60%.
Recommended brand of antifreeze concentrate: DIAQUEEN SUPER LONG LIFE COOLANT or equivalent.
Attention! If the concentration of the antifreeze solution is less than 30%, the anticorrosive properties of such a solution are significantly reduced. If the concentration is higher than 60%, the heat capacity of such a solution is less than the calculated value, which worsens the engine cooling conditions. Therefore, you should strictly monitor the concentration of the coolant solution.
