Removal sequence
Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector.
Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector.
Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
Remove the connector and oxygen sensor connector bracket
Disconnect the wire harness clamps.
Remove the coolant inlet pipe.
Remove the thermostat.
Place a match mark on the lower radiator hose and clamp.
Remove the lower radiator hose.
Attention! Check that there are no traces of oil on the thermostat rubber seal. Do not crush or scratch the thermostat rubber seal during installation.
Install the thermostat so that the bypass valve is vertical.

Connecting the Lower Radiator Hose
Push the lower radiator hose all the way into the ledge of the inlet pipe.
Align the mating marks on the lower radiator hose and clamp.
Tighten the clamp.
Checking thermostat components
Place thermostat in water.
Heat the container by constantly stirring the water.
Record the opening temperature of the main thermostat valve.
Rated value: 82±1.5°C.
When the valve is fully open, check that the stroke is within the specified range.
Note. To measure the full travel of a valve, measure the height of the valve when it is in the fully closed position.
Then measure its height when fully open and subtract the height when the valve is fully closed.
- Rated value: 95°C.
- Valve travel: 8.5 mm or more.
