Checking the fuel shut-off valve (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

The fuel shut-off valve shuts off the fuel supply to the mixing chambers when the ignition is turned off. This prevents the engine from running due to glow ignition. If the valve fails, the engine cannot be started.

Examination

Turn on the ignition. Remove and reinstall the electrical wire from the valve several times. You should hear the valve click.

Otherwise, disconnect the connector and use a jumper to apply voltage directly from the battery. If you hear a valve click, ring the electrical wires, otherwise replace the valve.
