Removal and installation



− Before you begin removing parts, perform the following operations:
  • a) Remove the side trim of the luggage compartment.
  • b) Remove the ceiling trim.

− The parts are removed in the order of the numbers indicated in the figure "Removing the fixed side window of the luggage compartment".



Removal the fixed side glass of the luggage compartment. 1 - fixed side glass, 2 - two-way retainer, 3 - retainer, 4 - rubber gasket.


- When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the fixed side glass.

a) Apply protective tape to the fixed side glass.



b) Apply alignment marks to the body and fixed side glass.

c) From the passenger compartment, holding the special tool at a 90° angle to the body flanging, insert the blade of the special tool between the glass and the body flanging, then cut the glue by moving the special tool along the perimeter of the glass.







d) Using the glass holder, remove the fixed side glass.



d) Using a knife, remove the remains of the old glue around the entire perimeter of the body opening to a thickness of no more than 2 mm.



e) Sand the edges of the body opening flanging to remove sharp burrs.



Attention:
  • - Be careful not to remove more old glue than necessary.
  • - Be careful not to damage the painted surfaces of the car body with the knife; in case of damage, touch up with paint from the repair kit or treat with an anti-corrosion compound.


g) When installing a used fixed side glass, completely clean its surface from the remains of old glue and wash it with isopropyl alcohol.

c) Clean the surfaces of the body opening in the same way.

Caution: Dry the cleaned surfaces for 3 minutes or longer before proceeding with the following operations. Do not touch the cleaned surfaces.


- Do you install the parts in the reverse order of removal?.

− When installing the parts, pay attention to the installation operations of the retainer, double-sided retainer and fixed side glass of the luggage compartment.

a) To install used glass, follow these procedures:
  • - Install the retainer on the body.
  • - Cut off the additional tabs for the retainer on the fixed side glass.

Note: If the extra tabs are cut incorrectly, the glass may not be installed correctly.




b) Clean (degrease) the glass surfaces and body flanges in the places where the double-sided fasteners are installed with isopropyl alcohol.



c) Install the two-way retainer on the body flanging in the place shown in the figure.

d) Install the two-way retainer on the fixed side glass so that its location matches the location of the two-way retainer installed on the body flanging.



d) Apply primer and glue to the areas indicated in the figure "Removing the fixed side glass".

e) Install the fixed side glass in the same manner as the windshield.

- After completing the installation of the parts, perform the following operations:
  • a) Install ceiling trim.
  • b) Install the luggage compartment side trim.
