Note: Disassembly is performed in the order shown in the figure.

Wrap the slave cylinder with a rag to prevent the piston from flying out during removal and to avoid injury to service personnel.

Feed the compressed fluid gradually to prevent splashing of the working fluid.

Remove the piston from the working cylinder using compressed air.

Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.

The article is reprinted from a web resource MITSUBISHIMAN

When installing the parts, pay attention to the operation of installing the piston and piston cuff.

Apply the specified working fluid to the inner surface of the clutch hydraulic drive slave cylinder housing and to the outer surface of the piston and piston seal. Install the piston and piston seal assembly into the slave cylinder housing.

Working fluid type: brake fluid SAE J 1703 or FMVSS116 DOT3 or DOT4.

Examination

Check the inner surface of the slave cylinder housing for rust and damage.

Measure the inner diameter of the working cylinder using a bore gauge at three points along the length (at the near edge, in the middle and at the far edge of the housing) and in two mutually perpendicular directions. Replace the working cylinder assembly if the clearance between the piston and the working cylinder housing exceeds the maximum permissible value.

Maximum permissible value: 0.15 mm.
