Note. Disassembly is carried out in the order shown in the figure.
Wrap a rag around the slave cylinder to prevent the piston from flying out during removal and to avoid injury to service personnel.
Gradually apply compressed to prevent splashing of the working fluid.
Remove the piston from the working cylinder with compressed air.
Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
When installing parts, pay attention to the installation operation of the piston and piston collar.
Apply the specified hydraulic fluid to the inside of the clutch slave cylinder housing and to the outside of the piston and piston collar. Install the piston and piston collar assembly into the slave cylinder body.
Fluid type: SAE J 1703 or FMVSS116 DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid.
Examination
Check the inner surface of the slave cylinder body for rust and damage.
Measure the inner diameter of the working cylinder with a bore gauge at three points along the length (at the near edge, in the middle and at the far edge of the body) and in two mutually perpendicular directions. Replace the slave cylinder assembly if the clearance between the piston and the slave cylinder body exceeds the maximum allowable value.
Limit value: 0.15 mm.
