Bleeding the Clutch Hydraulic Drive (Mitsubishi Outlander 1)

Caution! Use only the specified brake fluid. Do not mix brake fluids.


Brake fluid: DOT 3 or DOT 4.

Remove the upper front suspension strut.

Disconnect the brake pipe clamp and remove the brake master cylinder without disconnecting the brake pipes.



Connect the hose with the bottle to the air bleed nipple.

Open the outlet nipple.

Slowly press the clutch pedal. Loosen the bleed screw to release air and brake fluid. Close the bleed screw. Release the clutch pedal. Repeat until brake fluid comes out of the bleed screw without any air bubbles.

Make sure that the fluid level in the brake system hydraulic reservoir is between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks during the entire process of bleeding air from the clutch hydraulic drive.

Remove the bottom cover.



Connect the hose with the bottle to the air bleed nipple.

Open the outlet nipple.

Slowly press the clutch pedal. Loosen the bleed screw to release air and brake fluid. Close the bleed screw. Release the clutch pedal. Repeat until brake fluid comes out of the bleed screw without any air bubbles.

Make sure that the fluid level in the brake system hydraulic reservoir is between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks during the entire process of bleeding air from the clutch hydraulic drive.
