The Mitsubishi L-200 Sportero, launched into production in 2007, is a modified version of the previously produced Mitsubishi L-200 Strada and is a light-duty pickup truck.

Wheel arrangement



2WD (rear-wheel drive) or 4WD (all-wheel drive). The 4WD variant can be equipped with transfer boxes with different operating modes: Easy select and Super select. In the Easy select variant, switching between 2WD and 4WD modes, as well as engaging the demultiplier, is simplified compared to the Super select variant (see chapter "4. Transmission").

Body



Frame construction with a cabin and cargo compartment.

The body is available in three versions:
  • 1. SINGLE CAB - two-door cabin;
  • 2. CLUB CAB - two-door extended cabin;
  • 3. DOUBLECAB - four-door cabin.



Engine



The vehicle is equipped with a 2.5-liter 4D5 series diesel engine.

The 4D56 DI-D engine is a direct injection diesel engine (Common Rail), is equipped with a turbocharger and an air intercooler and two camshafts in the cylinder head (DOHC).



Transmission



The car is equipped with a 5-speed manual (MT) or 4-speed automatic (AT) gearbox, a two-speed transfer case (in the 4WD version) and a forced locking rear differential Super select.

The manual transmission is available in three versions:
  • 2WD - R5MB1-J-NC;
  • 4WD Easy select - V5MB1-J-NEG;
  • 4WD Super select - V5MB1-J-NE.

The automatic transmission is available in two versions:
  • 2WD - R4A5A:
  • 4WD Super select - V4A5A.

Suspension



Front suspension - independent on transverse lower and upper arms, with shock absorber struts and anti-roll bar.

Rear suspension - axle on elliptical springs with shock absorbers.

Steering



Rack and pinion type with hydraulic booster.

Adjustable (by angle of inclination) trauma-safe steering column.

Brake system



The working brake system is dual-circuit with hydraulic booster, with or without ABS.

Parking brake - drive to the brake shoes of the rear axle.

Front brakes - ventilated disc.

Rear brakes are drum type.

Wheels and tires



Steel wheels 16 x 6.00JJ and tires 205/80 R16 104S RF.

Light alloy wheels 16 x 7.00JJ and tires 245/70 R16 111S RF.

Light alloy wheels and tires 245/65 R17111S.
