2. All models are equipped with an immobilizer, which helps prevent car theft.
The ignition key head has a built-in microchip with a transmitter. When you insert the key into the ignition switch, the transmitter sends a signal to the control unit about permission to start the engine. This system does not allow the engine to be started with another key or by short-circuiting the ignition switch wires. The engine will start only if the transmitter signal matches the registered signal.
Note: On Sedan models, when the key is removed from the ignition, the engine immobilizer indicator on the instrument panel starts to flash.

Caution: When starting the engine with a key on the ring, do not press the ring on the key handle, as this may damage the key transmitter. Also, when starting the engine, do not allow another key with a transmitter (including from another car) to be near the key used to start. Otherwise, the engine may not start or stall after starting.
3. To unlock/lock the driver's door and front passenger door from the outside, insert the key into the door lock and turn it left/right.
