A – Selector lever position indicator lamps. The indicator lamps on the instrument panel are designed to indicate the position of the automatic transmission selector, and one of these lamps lights up when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position.
B – Selector lever "N" position indicator lamp. If the selector lever "N" position indicator lamp flashes when the selector lever is in the "D" ("Drive") position or in the manual shift slot, this indicates a possible malfunction of the automatic transmission.
Automatic transmission ATF fluid temperature warning light (red, for vehicles with automatic transmission)
This light comes on when the ATF fluid temperature in the automatic transmission rises above the maximum permissible value. This light usually comes on when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position and goes out a few seconds after the engine is started.
Warning! If this light comes on, you should slow down and stop the car in a safe place.
Then move the selector lever to the "P" (Park) position and leave the engine idling until the fluid temperature warning light goes out. When this light goes out, the car can be driven as usual. If this light does not go out, the car should be checked by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
