Adjusting the Automatic Transmission Throttle Control Cable (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

The position of the gas pedal is transmitted to the automatic transmission by means of a cable. It is fixed to the disk cam on the axis of the throttle valve of the fuel injection device. The cable must be adjusted when installing the box or cable, or when defects are detected in the switching modes of the automatic transmission.

Adjustment

Note: Adjustment must be made with the engine at operating temperature, otherwise the throttle valve will not open properly in idle mode. The trigger must move away from the fast idle cam.

The assistant should press the gas pedal all the way down. If the throttle valve of the carburetor or fuel injection device does not open completely, the throttle rods or gas cable should be adjusted.



Lift the cover "B" of the access cable to the bushing.

Check the distance "C" between the bushing and the cover "A". Required value: C = 1.0±0.5 mm.

If the value differs from the required one, loosen the lower cable mounting bolt and adjust the cable to the required value.

Tighten the lower cable mounting bolt.
