Removal

Remove the brake drum or wheel hub.

Remove seal "1".

Knock out the outer races of the inner and outer bearings with a brass rod. In this case, to avoid distortion of the races, the rod should be placed in a circle to different places of the bearing race.

Caution: Use only a rod in perfect condition to prevent scoring on the bearing race seat.

Clean the brake drum or wheel hub with a clean cloth and alcohol.

Installation

Caution: The bearing race and roller bearing, as well as the inner and outer bearings, must be from the same manufacturer.

Drive the outer races all the way in. The service station uses the devices shown in the figure for this purpose. If special devices are not available, carefully drive the races in using tubes of the appropriate diameter.

Fill the inside of the hub or drum cavity with bearing grease.

Fill the roller bearing with bearing grease (lithium grease), also lubricate the inner surface of the hub.

Press both roller bearings with the roller surface into the hub or brake drum.

Press the seal into the wheel hub until it is flush with the edge of the hub.

Install the hub or brake drum.
