Removing
Remove steering knuckle.
Loosen the clamps at both ends of the cuff.
Pull off the rubber cuff.
Attention: As a result of operation for a long time of a defective cuff, penetration of contaminants may occur. Together with the lubricant, they act as a grinding paste and destroy the steering gear. In this case, as well as with traces of corrosion on the gear rack, the steering gearbox must be repaired (workshop work).
Installation
Lightly lubricate tie rod -C-.
Lubricate seating area of seal -B- from inside with silicone grease -E- and fit onto tie rod -C-.
Secure collar -D- at rack housing -A- and at tie rod -C- with clamps -D-. Make sure the cuff is not twisted.
Install steering knuckle.
Lower the car.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the toe.
