Removal and installation
Attention: before removing the airbag module and SRS coiled wire, read the safety precautions given in the appropriate section of the chapter "SRS passive safety system".
- Parts are removed in the order of the numbers shown in the figure "Removing the ignition switch".
Removing the ignition switch. 1 - lower steering column cover, 2 - upper steering column cover, 3 - steering wheel, 4 - spiral wire and steering column combined switch assembly, 5 - ignition lock cylinder, 6 - ignition lock, 7 - ignition key presence sensor.
− When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the ignition lock cylinder.
A) Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "ACC".
b) Using a thin Phillips screwdriver, push in the locking pin of the ignition cylinder, and then remove the cylinder.
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Checking the ignition switch
1. Disconnect the harness connector from the ignition switch.
2. Turning the ignition key to various positions, check the condition of the circuit between the terminals of the ignition lock connector according to the table below.

Checking the sensor for the presence of a key in the ignition lock
1. Disconnect the harness connector from the ignition switch.
2. Check for continuity between terminals "4" And "6" key in ignition sensor when the key is removed from the ignition.
3. Check for continuity between terminals "4" And "6" key in ignition switch when the key is inserted in the ignition switch.
