Removal and installation
Caution: Before removing the air bag module and SRS coil wire, read the safety precautions in the appropriate section of the chapter "SRS passive safety system".
− The parts are removed in the order of the numbers indicated in the figure "Removing the ignition switch".
Removal the ignition switch. 1 - lower steering column cover, 2 - upper steering column cover, 3 - steering wheel, 4 - spiral wire and steering column combination switch assembly, 5 - ignition lock cylinder, 6 - ignition lock, 7 - key presence sensor in the ignition lock.
- When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the ignition lock cylinder.
a) Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "ACC" position.
b) Using a thin Phillips screwdriver, push the locking pin of the ignition lock cylinder inward and then remove the cylinder.

− Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Checking the ignition switch
1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the ignition switch.
2. Turn the ignition switch key to different positions and check the condition of the circuit between the terminals of the ignition switch connector according to the table below.

Checking the key presence sensor in the ignition switch
1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the ignition switch.
2. Check for continuity between terminals "4" and "6" of the key in ignition switch when the key is removed from the ignition switch.
3. Check for continuity between terminals "4" and "6" of the key in ignition switch when the key is inserted into the ignition switch.
