Removal the ignition lock cylinder

Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn it to the "ACC" position.

Using a Phillips (+) (small) screwdriver or similar tool, press the ignition lock cylinder lock pin inward and then pull the ignition lock cylinder toward you.

Checking the ignition switch

Remove the lower and upper steering column covers.

Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the ignition switch.

By turning the key, check the condition of the circuit between the terminals.

Checking the key presence sensor in the ignition switch

Disconnect the key in ignition switch connector from the key in ignition switch.

(The text of the article was taken from the website MitsubishiMan.ru)

Check the circuit condition between the sensor connector terminals according to the table below when the ignition key is inserted and removed.

Method of registration of identification code

After purchasing a new ignition key or replacing the immobilizer electronic control unit, you must register the identification codes for each new key in the immobilizer control unit. (The maximum number of codes that can be registered is eight).

In addition, after replacing the immobilizer electronic control unit, you must use the MUT-II device to register the password set in the immobilizer electronic control unit (Such information is provided in the MUT-II device Operation Manual).

Attention! When registering new identification codes, all previously registered codes will be erased. In this regard, you must have all the ignition keys with previously registered codes.

Connect MUT-II to the diagnostic connector.

Caution! Connecting and disconnecting the MUT-II must always be done with the ignition off.

Use the ignition key you are going to register to turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

Use the MUT-II to register the identification code. If you register two or more codes, use the next ignition key to be registered to turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position without disconnecting the MUT-II.

Disconnect the MUT-II. This will complete the registration operation.
