The Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system has its own electronics with software and uses the ABS actuators.

The EBD system is designed to monitor and control the rear brakes to prevent them from locking and is activated for a lower slip coefficient, at which the ABS does not work. The ABS system detects the deceleration of the vehicle and the slip of each wheel. If the speed of the rear wheels differs from the speed of the vehicle by a certain amount or more, the ABS system increases, maintains, decreases the brake fluid pressure in the rear brakes through the electromagnetic valves of the hydraulic unit and then maintains the pressure as close as possible to the ideal frequency distribution curve.
