To activate the cruise control system
Press the central switch button to turn on the system (signal lamp should light up), and then pull the speed setting lever while moving at the desired speed. When the cruise control system is activated, the CRUISE indicator on the instrument panel will illuminate.
Attention! The use of the cruise control system is not recommended when road conditions do not allow driving at a constant speed, such as when driving in heavy city traffic, when driving on slippery, icy, snowy or wet roads, or when driving down a steep hill.
Attention! If, with the cruise control system engaged, the shift lever is placed in neutral N without depressing the clutch pedal, the engine may overaccelerate and be damaged.
For safe driving, the cruise control switch must be in the OFF position (turned off), if you are not using the cruise control system.
Be aware that the cruise control system does not maintain the specified speed when driving downhill or uphill.
The vehicle speed may drop below the set speed when driving downhill: therefore, you will need to use the accelerator pedal if you want to maintain a constant speed.
Vehicle speed may increase on a steep downhill. In this case, the cruise control system must be turned off.
Attention! Never turn the ignition key to the OFF position while the vehicle is moving.
To turn off the cruise control system
The cruise control system can be turned off and the previously set speed can be cleared by using the cruise control system switch or by turning the ignition key to the OFF position.
The cruise control system can be turned off as follows without erasing the speed data from the memory.
1. Pressing the brake pedal.
2. Pulling the speed setting lever towards you.
3. Pressing the clutch pedal (models with manual transmission).
4. Move the automatic transmission lever to neutral N (for models with automatic transmission).
5. When driving downhill or uphill, if the vehicle speed changes by more than 15 km/h, the system will turn off.
6. When the vehicle speed drops to 40 km/h or less.
To return to the previously set speed, pull the speed setting lever while driving at speeds above 40 km/h.
To increase the set speed
Pull and hold the speed setting lever; speed will gradually increase. When the speed reaches the desired, release the lever; the cruise control system will be activated and programmed to travel at that speed.
To quickly increase the set speed, increase vehicle speed using the accelerator pedal, then pull and release the speed setting lever.
To pick up speed for overtaking
Depress the accelerator pedal as usual. When the accelerator pedal is released, the vehicle will return to the set speed.
