The cruise control system is an automatic system for controlling the speed of a vehicle (at a speed of 40 km/h and above). When it is turned on, you do not need to hold down the accelerator pedal to maintain a constant speed. This is especially convenient when driving on the highway.
To activate the cruise control system
Press the central switch button to turn on the system (the signal lamp should light up), and then pull the speed control lever to move at the desired speed. When the cruise control system is activated, the CRUISE indicator on the instrument cluster will illuminate.
Caution: Using the cruise control system is not recommended when road conditions do not allow driving at a constant speed, such as heavy city traffic, slippery, icy, snowy or wet roads, or steep downhill roads.
Attention! If you move the gearshift lever to the neutral gear position N while the cruise control system is on, without pressing the clutch pedal, this may cause the engine to accelerate excessively and damage it.
For safe driving, the cruise control switch must be in the OFF position when not using the cruise control system.
Please note that the cruise control system does not maintain the set speed when driving downhill or uphill.
The vehicle speed may decrease below the set speed when the vehicle is moving downhill: therefore, you will have to use the accelerator pedal if you want to maintain a constant driving speed.
The vehicle's speed may increase on a steep descent. In this case, the cruise control system must be turned off.
Caution: Never turn the ignition key to the OFF position while the vehicle is moving.
To turn off the cruise control system
The cruise control system can be turned off and the previously set speed can be cleared using the cruise control switch or by turning the ignition key to the OFF position.
The cruise control system can be turned off as follows without erasing the speed data from memory.
1. By pressing the brake pedal.
2. Pull the speed control lever towards you.
3. By pressing the clutch pedal (models with manual transmission).
4. Move the automatic transmission lever to neutral position N (for models with automatic transmission).
5. When driving downhill or uphill, if the vehicle speed changes by more than 15 km/h, the system turns off.
6. When the vehicle speed decreases to 40 km/h or less.
To return to the previously set speed, pull the speed control lever when driving at a speed above 40 km/h.
To increase the set speed
Pull and hold the speed control lever towards you; the speed will be gradually increased. When the desired speed is reached, release the lever; the cruise control system will be turned on and programmed to travel at that speed.
To quickly increase the set speed, increase the vehicle speed using the accelerator pedal, then pull and release the speed control lever.
To gain speed for overtaking
Press the accelerator pedal as usual. When the accelerator pedal is released, the vehicle will return to the set speed.
