General information
The cruise control system (tempostat) is included in the standard equipment of some models, and can be installed additionally on others. The system allows you to automatically maintain the selected cruising speed of the car without using the gas pedal. The cruising speed should not exceed 40 km/h. Using the cruise control becomes especially convenient during long trips on lightly loaded straight country highways. For safety reasons, it is not recommended to turn on the cruise control when driving in the city, on winding roads with many turns, on slippery road surfaces, in heavy rain or in other adverse weather conditions. In the above cases, the driver must be able to fully control the vehicle's driving mode.
Warning! Incorrect use of the cruise control may cause a traffic accident. Only activate the cruise control system when driving on freeways and in favorable weather conditions. When the system is operating, the accelerator pedal may move automatically; however, do not hold it with your foot to avoid damage to the support and axle mechanisms.
The lever switch for controlling the cruise control is located on the right above the steering column, below the right combined steering column switch assembly. The system is switched on/off using the main cruise control switch button and is accompanied by the corresponding indicator lamp on the vehicle's instrument panel.
To activate the system, press the main switch button - the speed control system indicator on the instrument panel should light up.
Tempostat Operation Management
On models equipped with AT, the gear selector lever must first be moved to position D.
Turn on the cruise control by pressing the button on its main switch lever (see above) - the corresponding indicator lamp on the instrument panel should light up.
Accelerate the vehicle to the required cruising speed, which should not be less than 40 km/h.
Press the switch lever down in the "COAST/SET" direction, then release it - the current speed of the car will now be maintained automatically. To increase the set speed, press the switch lever up in the "ACC/RES" direction (speed is reduced by pressing the lever down). Each press of the lever changes the selected speed by 1.6 km/h. Acceleration of the car when overtaking is achieved by pressing the gas pedal, after releasing which the speed will automatically return to the previously selected cruising value.
Caution! When using the cruise control on models equipped with a manual transmission, do not shift the gearbox into neutral without depressing the clutch pedal, as this may lead to an excessive increase in crankshaft speed!
The entered setting of the vehicle's cruising speed can be cancelled by pulling the cruise control lever once in the "CANCEL" direction, pressing the foot brake pedal, or pressing the clutch pedal (models with manual transmission). If the vehicle's speed decreases below 40 km/h, or more than 16 km/h below the selected value, the cruise control setting will also be automatically reset.

To return the system to the previously set value after the cruise control settings have been reset by braking or clutch release, press the switch lever up ("ACC/RES"). This does not apply to the case where the reset occurred as a result of the speed dropping below 40 km/h.
The tempostat is switched off using the OFF key, which is located around the main switch button.
Alarm about malfunctions of the temperature controller
If the cruise control indicator lamp starts to flash when using the cruise control system, switch off the cruise control and then switch it on again using the main switch button. If, when the system is switched on again, the indicator lamp continues to flash, comes on and immediately goes out, or does not come on at all, the car should be taken to a service station for a detailed diagnosis of the cruise control condition.
