Anti-slip system (tracking control)
Anti-slip control may be included with some models (TCL), allowing you to start off more confidently, accelerate on slippery road surfaces, in addition, TCL provides sufficient traction when cornering at high speed. The system automatically limits the power developed by the engine as soon as one of the drive wheels loses traction and begins to slip. You can feel the operation of the traction control system by the reaction of the steering wheel.
The TCL system switch is located on the instrument panel of the car, to the left of the steering column; turning on the system is accompanied by the operation of the TCL warning lamp mounted in the instrument cluster.
The system is equipped with a self-diagnostic device that ensures the operation of the TCL-OFF warning lamp in the event of a failure - the lamp starts to burn continuously or flashes. In such a situation, park the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the engine. If the warning lamp does not go out after restarting the engine, the vehicle should be driven to a Mitsubishi workshop to determine the cause of the failure.
Note. When starting the engine, a clicking sound may be heard in the engine compartment due to the operation of the TCL check system.
It should be noted that when driving out of mud or loose snow, the operation of the traction control system can lead to a failure to increase engine speed when the gas pedal is depressed. The TCL is turned off, again, using the TCL switch - the TCL-OFF indicator lamp on the instrument panel will light up.
Note. TCL activation occurs automatically when the engine is started.
