Relieving pressure in the fuel system (Mitsubishi Lancer 3)

The fuel lines of the injection device are under high pressure even after the engine has stopped. Therefore, when performing work that requires opening elements of the fuel system, for safety reasons, the pressure should first be released.

Remove the rear seat, see item 20.21.



Disconnect the fuel pump connector from the side of the fuel tank.

Start the engine and let it run until it stalls on its own. Turn off the ignition.

Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

Connect the fuel pump connector and install the rear seat.

After completing the work, connect the ground to the battery.
