Elements of the power system
1. Fuel filter; 2. Purge screw; 3. Manual fuel priming pump; 4. Sensor for the presence of water in the fuel; 5. Water in fuel sensor connector
Air filter
a and b - installation options; 1. Air line connecting the filter to the turbocharger; 2. Air filter housing; 3. Lid; 4. Filter element; 5. Air duct
Air from the power system must be removed in the following cases:
- removal of one of the fuel lines;
- stop the engine due to the complete consumption of fuel;
- replacing the fuel filter element.
1. Remove the bleed screw on the fuel filter housing.
2. Put a rag near the fuel filter to avoid fuel splashing.
3. Using the manual primer lever, bleed the system until fuel exits without air bubbles from the bleed screw.
4. Screw in the bleed screw.
5. Operate the manual priming pump lever again and completely fill the system with fuel, which will be indicated by increased resistance on the pump lever.
6. With the high-pressure fuel line fittings on the injectors not screwed in, press the gas pedal all the way down and turn on the starter.
7. As soon as fuel begins to dribble from the high pressure fuel line fittings, tighten the fittings on the injectors.
8. Warm up and start the engine to check for leaks in the fuel lines.
