Bleeding the fuel system (diesel engines only) (Mitsubishi Carisma)

If the fuel supply stops while the vehicle is moving due to air entering the fuel system, then to remove it, the system must be bled as follows.



1. Unfasten the four fasteners on the air filter and move cover 2 (Fig. 1.56) to the side.



2. Press and release the manual fuel pump 1 (Fig. 1.57) to the bracket 2 with your fingers until the pump becomes rigid. Press the pump a few more times to create pressure in the fuel system.

3. Finally, check the fuel system for fuel leaks. If in doubt, consult your nearest authorized Mitsubishi dealer.
