If the fuel supply to the engine is interrupted while driving, it is necessary to bleed the fuel system to remove air from it.

1. Loosen the air bleed plug (A) on the top of the fuel filter.

2. Pump with the hand pump (B) until there are no more air bubbles in the fuel flowing out from under the air lock. Place a cloth around the air bleed hole (A) to prevent any escaping fuel from splashing.

3. After the air bubbles in the fuel disappear, tighten the air bleeder plug (A).

4. Continue pumping until you feel resistance from the pump (B).

5. Finally, check for any fuel leaks. If in doubt, it is recommended to have the vehicle checked at an authorized Mitsubishi service center.

Attention:
  • Smoking and using open flames are prohibited while bleeding the fuel system.
  • Wipe up any spilled fuel thoroughly as it may ignite and cause a fire.
