1. The engine idle adjustment must be carried out with a warm engine, with adjusted gaps in the gas distribution mechanism, with a correctly set initial injection advance angle, with a clean and in place air filter element, with free movement of the fuel control cable, idle adjustment screw on the tip of which should not press hard on the injection pump fuel supply control lever, with the current consumers turned off.
2. Connect a tachometer according to the operating instructions and check the engine idle speed, which should be within 700–800 rpm.
3. If necessary, by turning the adjusting screw (1), resting against the fuel control lever (3), loosen the locknut (2) and set the desired crankshaft speed.
4. After adjustment, tighten the adjusting screw locknut and disconnect the tachometer.
