Air mass meter
The air mass meter is located in the air filter housing. It is located in the air duct and transmits pulses to the control unit, the frequency of which is proportional to the mass of the air taken in. Supply voltage (12 V) MPI injection device is supplied through the control relay. Pulses are issued with an amplitude of 5 V relative to ground.
If the engine stalls or occasionally starts poorly, the cause may be a defective wiring to the air mass meter. To check, start the engine and move the wires at the connector in different directions. If the engine stalls, replace the connector.
The engine will not start due to loose wires at the connector during start-up. If the engine starts and soon stalls again, replace the connector.
Disconnect the air mass meter connector. Connect a voltmeter to pin 2 (for a 124 hp engine: to pin 3) from the wiring harness side and ground. Turn on the ignition. Required value: battery voltage (about 11-13V), otherwise check the control relay.
Connect the positive lead of the meter to pin 1 (for a 124 hp engine: to pin 2) and measure the voltage at the contact. Required value: 4.8-5.2 V, otherwise check the quality of the mass.
Check the quality of the mass. To do this, switch off the ignition and connect an ohmmeter to pin 4 (for a 124 hp engine: to pin 6) and mass. Required value: 0 ohm.
