The coolant temperature sensor is mounted on the thermostat housing. The sensor's resistance decreases as the coolant temperature increases. If the sensor fails, the engine starts poorly and runs unevenly during warm-up.

Check the supply voltage. To do this, disconnect the 2-pin connector. Use an ohmmeter to ring contact 1 relative to ground. Connect a voltmeter to contact 2 and ground and turn on the ignition. Required value: 4.5-4.9 V.

Check the sensor resistance. To do this, connect an ohmmeter to both contacts of the sensor connector.

Required value:
  • at 20°C — 2.45±0.24 kOhm
  • at 80°C - 296±32 Ohm.
